    Okay from the front.

    I just bought the NU507100 yesterday, and I’m surprised that the picture is terrible if you’re looking at from the right or left. If you’re in front of it, it’s fine. I’m not sure if the HDR works when you put on a 4K movie. Is there a notification to let you know if it’s on. I’ll know more in a year from now.

    Basic 4K TV, easy set-up, VERY poor viewing angles

    Bought this last week for my dad.
    VIEWING ANGLES: This TV’s biggest flaw. It looks fine from a chair positioned directly in front of the TV, but even slightly off-axis, the colors are completely washed out (especially skin tones, which become white). For the most part, I find newer models have improved on the terrible viewing angle issues that characterized early LEDs, so I didn’t focus on that when shopping this time. But I really should have. Very disappointed in both the horizontal and vertical viewing angles with this TV.
    SOUND: Typically-thin, flat panel sound. The optical out to a soundbar is an easy solution. I connected it to a Samsung soundbar….hookup was simple and you just change an option in Settings. Works great.
    INPUTS: Lower-cost TVs usually skimp here, and this one’s no exception. There are only 3 HDMI, but that’s probably plenty for most people (who just use a cable/sat box and maybe a disc player). Samsung provides RCA-to-3.5mm adapters for one component video + stereo audio source.
    DESIGN: Looks good, nothing especially striking. Bezel isn’t super-thin, but it’s flat black, unobtrusive, and even all around. No complaints.
    REMOTE: Very basic. Irrelevant, because my dad uses his Xfinity remote.
    STAND: Horrible! It doesn’t really have a “stand,” just two cheap little feet that are aesthetically ugly, and force you to place a soundbar several inches in front of the TV. This is undoubtedly to save money, but it’s really a poor design because you’d think they WANT people to buy their soundbars. We can’t wall-mount (because it’s inside a cabinet), so I have to buy an aftermarket stand just to accommodate the soundbar. To be fair, it’s not just this TV….Samsung seems to have gone this route with most of its models.
    OVERALL VALUE: It’s a low-to-mid range TV that I thought would be plenty for my Dad’s purposes. But it has some of the worst viewing angles I’ve seen in an LED. This makes it a poor value, in my opinion.

    Great video, poor tuner

    All my older tvs pick up 63 channels Digital Air. This TV only gets 42 with same antenna feed. Real disappointment not getting channels we view daily.

    Tons of Screen Tearing

    While this tv offers a crisp picture and decent refresh rate, I notice screen tearing in almost every single show and movie. Seeing a great scene distorted by screen tearing every 5 minutes really ruins the entertainment experience. I don’t think this tv was worth the price I paid for it, which was at a 50% discount to begin with :/

    Best picture quality – however it “freezes” often

    This is our 2nd TV, the first one did the same thing. After several calls to customer service, they suggested exchanging the TV. So we took it back to BJ’s and got a different one. It is doing the same thing. I did the software update which helped, it will freeze less often however it will still freeze. We plan to take it back this weekend, too bad, the picture quality is great, best I have seen, and the features are also great. We just can’t deal with the freezing (even though it is only for less than a second, it is very annoying). I may try customer service one more time, but I think we will put our old TV back, at least for now. This has been too big an issue. Also, it will do the same thing when using the DVR or a Blu-Ray disk.

    You may need additional accessories

    I just wanted to make two comments on my new Samsung TV. I’m not usually one to complain, but I am hoping my thoughts could help in some small way. I recently purchased a 50 Inch UHD Smart TV (NU7100), and encountered some problems right from the beginning that forced me to purchase additional items just to get the TV working. Specifically, when I bought the TV, I also purchased a standard wall mount. When I tried to install the mount and TV, I realized that the screws that are needed for the back of the TV are not standard at all, and had to go to Home Depot to find ones that would work. Once I finally got it mounted, everything looked great, but the TV wouldn’t turn on. I eventually realized that because of the placement of the remote control receiver (directly in the middle at the very bottom), TVs mounted right above cable boxes won’t receive a signal. After a few days of having to stand up every single time we wanted to push a button on the remote, I purchased a signal extender so that we wouldn’t be inconvenienced any longer. I realize that not everyone mounts their TV, so it won’t always be a problem, but it was extremely frustrating, and I hope that newer models will easier to work with. Thanks.

    Angry shopper

    Lacks required hardware!

    Can’t really say anything about the tv since I’m not able to put it up yet. The TV DOES NOT come with its own wall mount screws and the all the specs say is vesa 200×200 (specificities details would be great) It seems it needs the longest screws possible. The wall mount kit I purchased comes with almost everything you could ever need, tools, level, hdmi cord but the longest M8 was a 35mm. So I’m off to make a trip to the hardware to find 4 M8 45mm screws…..

    Terrible clouding and light bleed, low quality

    I bought this TV a couple of months ago and honestly Im not at all happy with it. Its installed in a bedroom, and the TV has pretty bad clouding and light bleed, to the point that its annoying to watch. The controller is also cheap and the interface annoying and glitchy. The seller will not return the TV and I have been unable to get in touch with anyone competent from samsung. Disappointing overall, will never but samsung again.

    Initial opinion is fantatsic!

    I have owned this for about a week and am very happy with the TV. I upgraded from a 42″ Panasonic plasma which was 1080p. The main reason I purchased this specific brand was it is native to my SmartThings network, which has been working great for over a year.

    I always buy Samsung Electronics

    I received my TV 6 days ago. I am really enjoying my TV. There are a few things that make me wish I could’ve affored a better model. I would loved to have Bluetooth for my headphones or a headphone jack I could have put a transmitter into. I would also have liked a lighted remote.
    Other than the previous mentioned things I love my new TV! It has a sharp picture and good sound. I am still learning how to operate all the smart features.

    Sammie’s MID-LEVEL UHD-TV is back on TOP.

    LG and Vizio made a good run in 2014-2017 for mid level TV market. But move over LG/Vizio/Sony the 7 Series are back with a vengeance! You will be pretty hard pressed to find better Price/Color/Features of the 2018 mid-grade 4k TV by Samsung. This might all change in 2019 year (So stay tuned).

    Having issues

    Broken. Wont connect to WiFi anymore.

    This tv is 3 months old. Since day one it struggles to stay connected to wifi. every time I turn it on the wifi wont connect. I have to reboot the tv everytime to enjoy the Smart features. Last night it stopped connecting to the wifi for good. The firmware is up to date. Everything else works on my wifi. The issue is this not so smart tv. Waste of money.

    So Far It’s Great!!

    This is the first Samsung TV I have owned and it’s only been a month in my living room. I do like the accessibility options, the variable lists for favorites and the directory on the side bar allowing me to see what was on other channels while I was watching something else. It’s great!!

    Sharp picture great wifi

    Received as a gift form my this tv as the picturee is awesome with solid sound and easy to connect and use wifi. Only draw back is the feet.needs to be more stable. Great value for this great tv. 4k

    Sound on this tv is bad. after 8 months, I kept getting the input screen no matter what button you press on any of the four remotes. Never will buy a samsung again spending hours troubleshooting, ridiculous
